Finding Small Pleasures In Life

What a whirlwind of a week it has been! It is a trying time for everyone right now. We are all being asked to adjust from what was “normal’ life. Personally in all situations in life I try to look for the silver lining. In this particular case being forced to spend so much time at home I am able to tackle many things that would either take a lot longer or I simply wouldn’t ever do. Here are a few things I am doing to help find some pleasure in a time where there are so many unknowns.

  1. At home spa treatments! I deep conditioned my hair on Sunday and it was amazing! I also gave myself a face scrub and took a bath. It felt quite luxurious and left me feeling reenergized.

  2. Read! That really good book you have been meaning to get to, GET TO IT!

  3. Organize that closet. I know what you are thinking, ‘girl cleaning isn’t a pleasure’. But I assure you there are few pleasures as good as opening a closet and things being organized and easily accessible.

  4. Move your body. Hike, run, bike, yoga, pilates, hiit workout, dance or whatever you want to do to move and get your body sweating. It’s good for both your physical and mental health.

  5. Indulge in a treat that you wouldn’t normally. Take the time to make some chocolate truffles, or your favorite cookie or a fancy cocktail and then enjoy the fruit of your own labor.

    These are some of the things that I have done over the past 10 days that have really helped bring me a bit of pleasure and I think just overall help me feel normal and sane. I hope you each are able to find things in your life during this time that give you an extra spark of joy.
