3 TIPS TO A MORE PRODUCTIVE WORK DAY
Do you feel like your stuck in a work rut or just aren't able to get as much done as you need to? Welcome to the club. So many of us get to the end of the day wishing we had checked a few more things off our to do list. So today we are sharing 3 tips that really help you be more productive throughout your work day.
Tip 1: Don't look at your phone first thing in the morning.
Yes, easier said than done. Typically the first thing in the morning we grab our phones to check email or social media and its so easy to get caught up and loose an hour or two. So challenge yourself to instead start the day by getting something done and off your plate! Write a blog post, submit that brief, ship those packages, file that paperwork, make that spreadsheet, whatever it is that you know you need to get done that day start the day by tackling it. Then once you have been productive you can check those emails or see whats going on on social.
tip 2: Move your body
Its so hard to be productive if you are sitting at a desk all day. If you have the chance, stand up for part of the day while you are at your computer. If thats not an option make sure you take time to walk around and grab some water, use the bathroom and step outside for some fresh air. Getting your body moving will get that blood circulating and keep you feeling fresh and less sluggish.
tip 3: Limit your multi-tasking
We are all guilty of it. Sitting on a conference call while checking emails or texting. Listening to a presentation while simultaneously making lists in our head of things we need to do. Your brain is being pulled in at least two different directions and its likely that you will forget something. Focus your attention on one thing at a time, get that done and then move on to the next. You will find that you are more efficient and better able to retain information.
So lets do it ladies! Starting today lets all monotask and make that the next big trend! Because lets face it multitasking is simply exhausting. It also puts you on the fast track to burn out and ain't nobody got time for that.
