May 23 WHAT DOES SUCCESS MEAN TO YOU?

Success. What so many of us having been striving for since we graduated high school or college or maybe even earlier than that. But what does it mean to be successful? Making it to the top of that corporate ladder/jungle gym? Starting your own business? Making a certain amount of money? Having a family to come home to at the end of the day?

We were curious as to what success means to women. At what stage one is able to feel as if they are successful. So we set out to talk to women and here is what they had to say....

"I think for me it's a matter of what success FEELS like. And for me it feels authentic, freeing, unencumbered, peaceful, creative, and enlightening. And it would look like me having all these things with my family+friends+home+work" -D.J. 34 Education Manager

"Success is being able to do what I love at work while having a schedule that also allows me to do what I love in my personal life." -A.S. 41 Teacher

"Having my family healthy and happy and having a career where I feel challenged and fulfilled." -C.D. 36 Project Manager

"Success to me is continuing to grow in my career and being able to share the small victories along the way with the people I love" -A.G. 35 Marketing Manager

"For me its about being able to enjoy my life with my family and working a job that I look forward to going to each day. Or at least most days." -K.S. 39 Graphic Designer

"At work success is working on projects where I can really make a difference in peoples lives. At home its being there for my kids and helping them find what they are passionate about." -M.P. Non-profit Director

"Having a career where I enjoy the work that I am doing and doing work that is meaningful and not just about the bottom line. Being able to spend time with my family and my kids knowing that they can always count on me. And having a great relationship with my husband." -D.C. 33 Entreprenuare

Webster dictionary defines success as being "favorable or desired outcome; also : the attainment of wealth, favor, or eminence"
